Glue-laminated timber
WHAT IS A GLUE‑LAMINATED TIMBER?
Glue‑laminated timber is a structural wood product manufactured by bonding together multiple kiln‑dried and strength‑graded timber lamellas into a single solid element.
Glue‑laminated timber is used in load‑bearing applications where the material must withstand high loads and span long distances.
Unlike glue‑laminated wood used for components and product manufacturing, glue‑laminated timber is designed specifically for structural and construction applications.
APPLICATIONS:
- Load‑bearing beams and columns
- Roof and floor structures
- Industrial and production building frames
- Public buildings and large spans
- Bridges, canopies and other exterior structures
ADVANTAGES OF GLUE‑LAMINATED TIMBER:
- High load‑bearing capacity and strength
- Enables large cross‑sections and long spans
- Good dimensional stability even under high loads
- Reliable and predictable performance in structures
- Less sensitive to changes in environmental conditions (humidity, temperature) compared to solid wood
